Name: Stephanie Semon
Age: 22
Name of your brand: ReBellerie
Tell us a little bit about yourself ?
I am from the Ivory Coast (Côte d’ Ivoire) in West Africa. I recently graduated college with a Bachelors and Masters in Psychology. While in college, I ran division 1 Track along with running a culture club.
So, what is ReBellerie?
ReBellerie is a handmade jewelry company that specializes in bracelets and necklaces.
What have you learned thus far in terms of running your own jewelry line?
I’ve learn that success takes time, patience, and determination. I’ve also realized that people will claim to support your brand but never actually take the necessary steps to show their support.
What is it that you hope to accomplish with your brand?
I hope to one day have my jewelry in a store like Urban Outfitters and to have celebrity clientele.
Do you plan to extend your jewelry line? Or maybe venture to clothing?
I do plan on venturing into clothing, but only basic apparel that highlight the brand . I also plan on expanding into other types of accessories.
How will you incorporate clothing into your jewelry line?
My potential clothing line will just feature the logo. I do not plan to get too involved in clothing design since it is not my specialty
Name one major highlight that you can say ReBellerie has given you thus far.
One major accomplishment was having my jewelry used in the Sabit NYC Fall/Winter collection fashion show in 2014.
What steps do you plan to take to make sure that your jewelry line continues to succeed?
I plan to keep using social media to reach more customers as well as vend at pop up shops where there will be a lot of media attention and stylists.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry that you have designed?
I have several favorites but my top two are Queen and Dopamine. (pictured below)
Anything else that you’d like to add?
ReBellerie is pronounced (REH-BELL-REE). It is a combination of three words.
The beginning part, “rebel“ refers to deviating from the norm and doing what makes you unique. I chose the French word for beautiful “belle” to highlight an individual’s aesthetics. The ending is simply a stylized form of the ending of the word jewel[ry].
